How to Book Travel with Meta Muse: Flights, Hotels and Trips
Published 5 min read
Meta Muse travel booking works in two different ways. For flights, Muse links straight to Duffel, a company that sells airline tickets through software. For hotels, it mostly opens a web browser and books on travel sites, much like you would.
Either way, Muse shows you the trip and the price first. Nothing is bought until you approve it, so Muse AI works like a travel agent who always checks with you.

Here’s how each part works as of October 2026, plus tips to book safely.
Travel booking at a glance:

| Hotels | Browses sites like Expedia and Hotels.com | The booking site or the hotel |
| Car rentals | Browses travel and rental sites | The booking site |
| Expedia hotels in chat | Announced as “coming soon,” no live date | Expedia, once it launches |
| Tours and activities in Japan | Klook partnership | Not stated |
How to book a flight with Meta Muse
To book a flight, tell Muse where and when you want to go. Then review the options and approve one. Behind the scenes, Muse connects to Duffel for live fares from more than 500 airlines, Skift reported.
- Open the Muse app, muse.ai or Muse in WhatsApp, and sign in with your Meta account.
- Add a payment card if you haven’t yet. Engadget says to add one under “wallet” in settings.
- Ask in plain words. Include your route, dates, times, budget and any bag or seat needs.
- Review the flights Muse finds. Ask follow-up questions, like “Is there a nonstop option?”
- Approve the booking. Muse shows the itinerary and price first and rechecks the fare before ticketing.
- Check your confirmation and save it somewhere you can find offline.
Here’s a good first request: “Find a nonstop flight from Chicago to Denver on March 14, under $300. Show me the top three before booking.”
After you book: changes and cancellations go through the same Duffel link. Duffel offers 24/7 human support for flight bookings, according to Travelers Today.
How payment works: Meta says Muse pays through Link by Stripe. Link makes a one-time card for each purchase, so your real card number stays hidden.
A few things are still unclear. Travelers Today notes that neither Meta nor Duffel has said who the seller of record is for flights.
Some airlines may also not work with outside AI agents. Delta has been reported as one of them.
Can Meta Muse book hotels?
Yes, Meta Muse can book hotels, but not the same way it books flights. At launch, Muse used its browser to shop sites like Expedia and Hotels.com, just like a person would, Skift reported.
That matters when plans change. With browser bookings, problems go to the booking site or the hotel. There’s no Duffel-style support line behind them.
The same goes for car rentals.
Skift asked Muse for a New York hotel at $350 to $450 a night. Muse first suggested the Marlton Hotel. Skift also saw Muse search again and again when results didn’t fit the budget.
What about Expedia?
Expedia is building a direct link with Muse. US travelers will be able to search, compare and book hotels right in the chat, Hotel Guest Experience reported. Expedia will be the seller and handle payment and customer service.
Meta’s Connect 2026 recap called Expedia “coming soon.” No live date has been confirmed as of October 2026.
Plan a trip using Meta Muse
Muse can help with the whole trip, not just the bookings. It can research places, build a day-by-day plan, set reminders and watch prices for you.
Here’s what Meta lists that’s useful for trips:
- Research and documents: Muse can research and make documents or PDFs, like a packing list or plan.
- Price watching: its browser can watch for price drops, per the Meta Help Center.
- Reminders: scheduled tasks and location reminders, like “remind me to buy a SIM card when I land.”
- Memory: it remembers details you share, like your seat preference or a kid’s food allergy.
- Email: with Gmail connected, you can ask it to gather your booking emails into one plan. Our guide to using Meta Muse for email shows how to connect it.
For a full list, see our guide to Meta Muse features.
Meta’s own staff liked it for this. Reuters reported that employees found Muse strong for vacation planning. One called it “the third participant” on a honeymoon.
In Japan, Muse also works with Klook. MARKETECH APAC reported that Klook is adding 426,000 bookable experiences in more than 4,600 destinations.
Try a planning request like this:
- “Plan a relaxed 4-day trip to San Diego in May for two adults. Keep hotels under $250 a night.”
- “Watch round-trip fares from Boston to Lisbon in June. Tell me if any drop below $700.”
- “Make a packing list for a beach week with a toddler.”
Meta Muse travel booking tips
To book travel safely with Muse, keep approvals on and check every detail before you say yes. These tips come from Meta’s own guidance and early coverage.
- Use “Always ask” while you learn. You’ll find it in Settings > Permissions, and Engadget suggests it for beginners.
- Pick “Allow once” on travel sites. Skip “Always allow” until you trust how Muse works.
- Check the names. They must match your passport or ID.
- Check dates, airports and times. Watch time zones and overnight flights.
- Read the cancellation rules before you approve a hotel or car.
- Expect to step in. Logins and text-message codes still need you.
- Watch the browser. You can open it to watch, take control or stop the task.
- Know who to call. Flights go to Duffel. Hotels and cars go to the site or hotel.
Payments here follow the same rules as any Muse purchase. Our Meta Muse shopping guide explains one-time cards and approvals. Before you connect your email or calendar, read our Meta Muse privacy guide.

Is it safe to let AI book flights?
It can be, if you stay in control. Muse shows you the itinerary and price and needs your approval before it buys. Payment uses a one-time card tied to one merchant and one amount. Still, check names, dates and airports before you approve, because Meta warns that Muse will sometimes make mistakes.
Which other AI agents can book travel?
Google's Gemini Spark, now called Task in the Gemini app, can browse websites to book travel and watch flight and hotel prices. Anthropic says its Claude Duet isn't as strong at personal errands like booking tickets. OpenAI hasn't documented a travel booking feature for ChatGPT dots as of October 2026.
