Meta Muse Pricing: How Much It Costs and What You Get
Published 6 min read
Meta Muse pricing is simple. Is the Muse app free? Yes, with a usage limit.
If you want Muse to do more each week, the Muse app costs $20 or $100 a month. These are the prices Meta lists in its Help Center as of October 2026.
New to Muse? Start with our plain-English guide to what Meta Muse is. It explains how Meta’s AI agent works before you spend anything.
Below you’ll find each plan and what you get for the money. We also cover how to subscribe or cancel, and whether paying is worth it.
| Plan | Price (US) | Weekly Muse tokens | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | A usage limit (Meta doesn’t publish the number) | Trying Muse and light use |
| Power | $20 a month | 500 million | People who use Muse most days |
| Maximum | $100 a month | 3 billion | Heavy users with long, busy tasks |

How much does Meta Muse cost?
Meta Muse costs nothing to start. The paid plans cost $20 a month (Power) or $100 a month (Maximum). Meta lists both on its subscriptions help page.
The plans differ by how many Muse tokens you get each week. Tokens are the units Meta uses to measure how much work Muse does for you. More tokens means more tasks before you hit a limit.
A few billing rules to know:
- Plans renew every month on the same date until you cancel.
- Your token allowance resets weekly. Unused tokens don’t roll over to the next week.
- You need to be 18 or older and in a country where Muse is offered.
- Prices are in US dollars. We couldn’t find local prices for Canada or Japan as of October 2026.
- No annual plan shows up on Meta’s pages.
How to subscribe
Meta’s Subscribe to Muse page gives this path:
- Open the Muse app and tap Menu.
- Go to Settings, then Usage.
- Tap Upgrade and pick a plan.
On the web at muse.ai, open the menu at the bottom left and follow the same steps.
How to buy extra tokens
You can also buy extra tokens if you run out mid-week. Go to Settings, then Upgrade or Manage subscription, and tap Buy additional tokens. Meta added this in App Store version 12 on October 17, 2026.
Meta’s extra tokens help page says bought tokens never expire. They are also non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise. We couldn’t confirm a set price for token packs as of October 2026.
How to cancel
Meta’s cancel page gives these steps:
- In the app, tap your profile picture, then Menu.
- Go to Settings, then Manage subscription.
- Tap Cancel and confirm.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store instead. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your plan. You keep paid access until the end of the billing period. Meta doesn’t give partial refunds unless the law requires it.
Is Meta Muse free to use?
Yes, Meta Muse is free with a usage limit. Meta’s Help Center says that when you hit the limit, you can upgrade or wait for it to refresh.
Meta doesn’t say how big the free allowance is. Some outlets, such as The Neuron, reported about 100 million tokens a week. Treat that as a reported figure, not an official one.
Meta seems happy for most people to stay free. TechCrunch reported that Meta expects most users to stick with the free plan. It also said the app has a usage meter.
TechCrunch also reported that you need to add a payment card to get started, even for free use. Meta’s own help pages don’t mention this.
The app itself is free to download. See our Meta Muse app download guide for the official store links.
Muse free vs paid: what you get
The main difference between free and paid Muse is how much work it can do each week. Meta’s help page describes the plans by their weekly token allowance. It also says plan benefits can vary by region.
| What you get | Free | Power ($20/mo) | Maximum ($100/mo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly tokens | Usage limit, number not published | 500 million | 3 billion |
| Resets weekly | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Muse Wonder model | Not announced | Meta says “soon,” subscribers first | Meta says “soon,” subscribers first |
| Billing | None | Monthly, auto-renews | Monthly, auto-renews |
A note on Muse Wonder: it’s Meta’s bigger AI model, announced on October 12, 2026. Meta’s Wonder announcement says it “will soon power experiences in Muse,” starting with subscribers. We couldn’t confirm it’s live in the app as of October 2026.
Meta doesn’t publish how many tokens a typical task uses. The usage meter in the app is the best way to see how fast you use your allowance.
Is the Meta Muse paid plan worth it?
For most people, start free and only pay if you keep hitting the limit. That matches what Meta itself expects: most users stay on the free plan.
Power ($20) may be worth it if:
- You hit the free limit often and don’t want to wait for it to reset.
- You use Muse for daily tasks like email, planning or shopping research.
- You want early access to Muse Wonder once Meta switches it on for subscribers.
Maximum ($100) is for heavy use. Think long-running projects or business tasks. Most people won’t need it.
It also helps to compare with rival agents. Muse is the only one of the big four personal AI agents with a free option, as of October 2026.
| Agent | Cheapest way to get the agent |
|---|---|
| Meta Muse | Free with limits; paid from $20 a month |
| Claude Duet | Included with Claude Pro ($20 a month), US waitlist |
| Gemini Spark (Task) | Needs Google AI Pro (about $20 a month) |
| ChatGPT dots | Needs ChatGPT Pro (from $100 a month) |

Meta Muse free trial
Meta hasn’t published a free trial for Muse as of October 2026. The Muse Terms only say Meta “may” offer free trials from time to time. Meta’s subscription help pages don’t mention a trial or a trial length.
In practice, the free plan works as your trial. You can use Muse at no cost and see how far the free allowance goes. Then upgrade later if you need more.
